বাঁধন যেথায় চেয়েছিলুম
সে বাঁধন কেন না এলো
দিনের আলোয় রাতের কালোয়
সে যে দূরে রয়ে গেল

চেয়েছিলুম ভাবের বাঁধন
ভাবাতীতে তমোৎসারণ
মন্ত্রাঘাতে আঁখিপাতে
সে দেবে চেতনার আলো

চেয়েছি ভালবাসার বাঁধন
অণুতে ভূমার উত্তরণ
যা করে অসাধ্য সাধন
সকল সত্তায় বাসবে ভালো

Wherever I'd desired bondage,
Why did that tie not arrive?
By light of day, by dark of night,
Far away did it abide.

I'd wanted the binding of thought:
To transcendence, from gloom an eruption.
Betwixt mantra's hit and eyelids:
Light of cognition will it provide.

I have craved a link of love,
From molecule, a cosmic ascension.
That which makes the unattainable done:
Every entity it will deem fine.
