দেবার কথা ভাবিনিকো
দাবিই শুধু শুনিয়েছি
কর্তব্য করিনিকো
বলে' গেছি দাও আমারে
ভূলোক দ্যুলোক ত্রিলোক ভরে'
গোলক ধাঁধায় কোল আঁধারে
শুনিনি মর্মে যে ডাক
বাহির পানে ছুটে গেছি
কাছেরে দূরে করেছি
সন্ধ্যা হ'লে ভুল বুঝেছি
রাতে দূরে নাহি থেকো
Translation
I have gone on wanting, I've implored;
Never did I think of giving.
Only my rights I've informed;
Never did I practice duty.
I have gone on telling: "Myself do give;
Heaven, Earth, the universe, all are filled."
In the dark impervious, inside a labyrinth,
That You call at heart-core I didn't hear.
I have raced out of doors;
What's nearby, I've made far off.
Now evening come, mistake I've fathomed;
In the night, don't stay away from me.
