আমার আমি ভেসে' গেছে
স্রোতের জলে ফুলের মত
যায়নি রাখা তাকে কাছে
জড়-বাঁধনে অবিরত

দিনে রাতে নানান ভাবে
চেয়েছিলুম অনুভবে
ভাব-সরিতার সব অভাবে
রঙ্‌ লাগাতে শত শত

সোনার খাঁচার সেই যে আমি
ডাকলে কখন তাকে তুমি
নিলে টেনে' শীর্ষ চুমি'
বললে রঙে হারাওনি তো

Gone afloat has my sense of 'I',
Like a blossom upon current's water.
Keeping it close by did not thrive
Under endless bondage of matter.

In diverse ways both day and night,
Knowledge had I desired
On a thought-stream's dearth entire,
The dyes applied, many hundreds.

That same golden-caged 'I'-sense,
When it You did request,
You abducted and then kissing head
Said: "Color you did vanquish."
