Kata janam cale geche
Kata madhumás keṋdeche
Kata moha pichu t́eneche
Sab chápiye hiyá bharecho

খুঁজে গেছি জীবন ভরে'
কোথায় তুমি লুকিয়ে আছ
নদীতীরে বনে পাহাড়ে
তীর্থে দেখি নাহি রয়েছ

ব্যর্থ নহে কোন কিছুই
আমি তোমায় খুঁজে' পাবই
অশ্রুনীরে ঘরে বাইরে
দেখি কোথায় রয়ে গেছ

কত জনম চলে' গেছে
কত মধুমাস কেঁদেছে
কত মোহ পিছু টেনেছে
সব ছাপিয়ে হিয়া ভরেছ

I've gone on searching all my life;
Where do You lie hidden?
At riverside, in forest and on pike,
In pilgrim-sites, I see You haven't been.

Not a thing is in vain;
Having sought You, surely I'll obtain.
Through my tears, at home and outside,
I see where You have been.

So many lifetimes have gone by;
So many springtimes, they have cried.
So many ties have yanked behind;
Exceeding all, my heart You've filled.
