এত ডাকি তবু আসো না
হিয়া পাষাণ হেন
এমন তো কারে কখনও দেখি না
আঁখি নীরে ভেসে’ গেছে কত যে রাতি
আসা-পথ চেয়ে নিবেছে যে বাতি
সবহারা জীবনের তুমি যে সাথী
একথা বুঝেও বোঝ না
ধরা নাহি দিতে চাও যদি

Why must You be callous?
I invite so much, but You don't come;
Your heart is like a stone;
I never see another one acting so.
Swimming in tears, how many nights have passed;
Awaiting You, my lamp got extinguished.
You're the one companion of a life impoverished;
Though this fact is known, You don't understand.
If You don't wish to grant embrace,
