Vidáy káler játrá pathe
Dáṋŕiyechilum málá háte
Sheś nishiithe malay váte
Balle ásbo báre báre

এতদিন যারে চেয়েছিনু
সে কি এসেছিল ঘরে
অভিমানে ছিল দূরে
বুঝিনি তা' ক্ষণতরে

দেখি চেয়ে আঁখির পাতে
অশ্রুবিন্দু ছিল তাতে
জ্যোৎস্না রাতের স্বপ্ন সাথে
চেয়ে দেখেনি সে মোরে

বিদায় কালের যাত্রা পথে
দাঁড়িয়েছিলুম মালা হাতে
শেষ নিশীথে মলয় বাতে
বললে আসব বারে বারে

For so long, the One I'd craved,
Was it He Who'd come to my dwelling?
He had been far away due to vanity,
But that I did not grasp instantly.

Through eyelids briefly I peer,
But on them were drops of tear.
Along with moonlit night's dream,
He cast not a glance at me.

At time of going upon journey,
I had stood, in hand a wreath.
"At night's end on a vernal breeze,"
Told He, "I'll come repeatedly."
